Our March Mystery Stitch Marker club was themed around spring flowers, although the weather at the start of the month had been anything but spring-like! The Beast From The East met Storm Emma and unleashed almost total shut down for at least 2 days in the UK, despite not that much snow falling. In some areas, there were some huge drifts and there was a great deal of black ice. In the UK we simply aren’t equipped for such weather events, so everything stops. In Wales, we had a red weather warning, for snow, wind and ice, and as such, I ventured out a few hours before the storm was due and shipped the March club a day early. I later discovered that the local village Post Office did not have a collection that day due to the forecast, ah well! I tried…

The theme of the club was lime green and purple. The colours, in particular, remind me of the first shoots of spring (green and yellow) and the first flowers of late winter/early spring with crocuses and anemones (purple). Don’t they contrast nicely with the colours of my knitted shawl?
