Row Counting

…without doubt the best knitting accessory I have ever purchased! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Lola

Wow! What a response we have had to our sweet little beaded row counters in the last few weeks. The row counters can be used in several ways, not least to count up to 99 rows using the clasp marker supplied to count the units, in the same way as an abacus.

The row counter can also be used to track pattern repeats and they can be customised directly from us for particular pattern repeats. I use mine all the time for tracking cable repeats!

With plenty in stock the row counters are available in two sizes, to fit needles up to 4mm (these will also fit 5mm needles) and slightly larger to fit needles up to 7mm, and we have a good choice of colours!

Beaded Point Protectors

This time of year is usually a little quiet when it comes to sales and because of that, we have a bit of time to design and create new products. Today we are showcasing our beaded point protectors in three new designs.

A beaded point protector can be used to protect the needle tips and keep the needles together whilst the knitting is on the needles. Its big feature is that the caps are joined together allowing the needles to remain a pair. Not only does it prevent the annoyance of losing the spare needle down the side of the sofa, but the point protectors also work to ensure the stitches stay on the needle.

Minimalist Stitch Markers

…they don’t need to be just functional, they can be beautiful too.

Hexagonal Minimalist Stitch Markers Knitting

Hexagonal Stitch Markers

Our new hexagonal snag free stitch markers are available in three colourways, gold plated, silver plated and rose gold plated. They are designed to fit knitting needles up to 7mm and do a perfect job of reminding you to check the pattern. Their stylish minimalist look is fresh and modern and look great on the needles. Sold in packs of 10 per colour, or a mixed colour pack of 15.

No show, this year!

Normally at this point on the Friday before Wonderwool Wales, I’m frantically checking I have everything packed into the car! Sadly this year, Atomic Knitting is not exhibiting at Wonderwool and after a lot of thought we chose to have a fallow year (a bit like the Glastonbury Festival)! It’s our first year off in over 10 years and I’ll miss seeing you all.

We were lucky enough to supply an item for this year’s goody bag for the Flock Gathering, so I feel like we are there in spirit at least. It’s a rather strange feeling, missing out on one of my favourite shows though.

As we like to be part of it all, there’s 15% off all orders placed on the website until midnight 1st May and free shipping on UK orders over £10!

Have a fantastic show if you’re going, and we’ll see you at the next one.

Atomic Knitting’s Mystery Stitch Markers & Notions Club

Launching today! Our new monthly mystery stitch marker & notions club! Yay!

It’s really easy to join in the fun, there’s no tie-in, no upfront monthly fees and it’s open to all. Each month, we’ll notify you by email when the club is available with a secret link and you can decide if you would like to purchase our exclusive limited edition club notions.

We like to keep things simple, so here’s how it works:

jan-stitch-marker-club

1. Sign up for our Monthly Mystery Stitch Marker & Notion Club email here to be the first to hear about each monthly launch.

sign-up

We recommend adding our email address to your address book to ensure the email doesn’t end up in the spam folder! You’ll get a notification email when the club opens.

2. We’ll send a notification email with a secret link each month. The mystery sets will be limited editions with only 15 sets per month available to purchase. From exclusive stitch markers to pattern tamers, themed mini crochet hooks to Portuguese pins plus lots of other accessories, we plan on bringing exclusive designs into the club. Each month will have something different, making it easy to pick and choose to suit your needs. If you decide not to purchase in a particular month, that’s absolutely fine and you’ll continue to receive the monthly club emails. There’s no obligation to purchase.

If you are thinking of buying a club release, we recommend purchasing when the pre-order email comes out (via the secret link), usually three days before the club is openly available to all on the website. The club will ship on the date specified in the description for that month. Once the club is sold out, then it will close.

3. The exact products each month will remain a mystery until they arrive with you! We will describe the type, quantity and sizing of the mystery product eg 1 x 4mm stitch marker but all other details will be a secret, as we don’t want to spoil the surprise. There should be enough information to decide if you would like to buy.

4. For UK customers, there are no shipping costs to pay for the monthly mystery clubs, as we’re making it easy to pre-order and we won’t delay any other order that you may place at the same time (unless you specifically ask us to!). Non UK customers – At this time club orders ship with the shipping costs as specified here.

5. Want to join in? Go on! There’s going to be some very special notions available that you simply won’t get anywhere else.

Instructional Knitting Stitch Markers

BC_Cornerstone_Carosel_1400_400_instr1Our ever popular instructional stitch markers are back with a new colour way. The majority of our markers are available to fit 4mm, 7mm, 6mm including crochet clasp and with a crochet clasp. For right/side wrong side markers or garment marking, these are generally available with crochet clips to clip onto the knitted work to denote the side or neck, arm etc.

Why use them?

Instructional stitch markers are invaluable to assist with complex patterns as the instruction is printed on the marker itself. For intermediate knitters this can provide a little extra confidence on more complex patterns and for advanced knitters our Instructional knitting stitch markers can also be used for freehand knitting where no pattern is followed per se, although perhaps the rhythm of increases/decreases or lace work is necessary for a symmetric or asymmetric design.

What designs are available

Over the years we have added to our designs and have a great complement of instructionals. We welcome commission orders.

Choose from sets including:

  • ssk, k2tog, psso, m1, yo, ssp,
  • inc, dec,
  • back, front

and of course our right side/wrong side, start and left/right (for sock knitting) are our most popular designs.

Counting markers are also highly sought after, as they can aid with counting large numbers of stitches, especially when casting on. Additional markers can be purchased to count larger numbers of stitches, and when used on the needles, this technique can ensure that any dropped or added stitches can be readily identified once the knitting has been sectioned.

Our latest designs are a great addition to our collection and we hope to have further designs released in the summer.

For the love of charity

February is often associated with St Valentines day and typical images of hearts and flowers. This February at Atomic Knitting we have decided to add to our charity work by supporting the British Heart Foundation (BHF). We’ll be donating the proceeds of sales of a selection of our exclusively designed heart themed knitting and crochet notions, including heart stitch markers sets, a beaded heart progress marker and a red foil heart Portuguese pin.

Our Just Giving page has been set up here and we will donate to it directly every couple of months with the proceeds of these sales (in the same way that we have been doing for Cancer Research UK).

To kick start our campaign, from today until 15th February, 10% of all Atomic Knitting website sales will also be donated in addition to the sales of our specific BHF charity products to our BHF Just Giving page.

Our shop is now open here
